Files Overview

Pentos Files is the file manager built into Pentos. It gives you one place to upload, organize, preview, edit, share and download your files, and to use them in chats and Collab without leaving the app. Every upload is scanned before anyone else can open it, and the names of your private files and folders are encrypted.

Getting Started

  • Uploading Files: Upload files and folders, see which types are supported, and check your storage.
  • Private & Public: Understand the two libraries and how public links work.
  • Cloud Files: Browse Google Drive, OneDrive, Box and Dropbox, and import files into Pentos.

Working with Files

Editing Files

  • Editing Docs: Write and edit documents with real-time collaboration, comments, versions and AI tools.
  • Editing Spreadsheets: Edit CSV, TSV and Excel files in a table view.
  • Editing Code: Edit code in a Monaco-based editor with live preview and an AI sidebar.
  • Editing Images: Crop, adjust and annotate images, or describe an edit and let AI make it. Every save becomes a new version.

Working with AI

  • Creating Images: Create images with AI in Files, or ask the AI for one in a chat.
  • Choosing an Image Model: Compare image models, see what each costs and keeps, and use your own API key.
  • Using Files With AI: Let the AI find and read your files, and keep the files it creates in chats.

Sharing and Managing

The Files Page

The left sidebar has a New button and four tabs:

  • Private: your own files and folders.
  • Shared: files and folders shared By Me or With Me, grouped by person.
  • Public: files anyone can open with a link.
  • Cloud: your connected cloud storage accounts.

Use New to Upload a file, create a Document, or create an Image with AI. Video and audio creation are coming soon.
